It's Brittani, Bitch!*

Is anyone else as glad as I am that Brittani won this cycle of ANTM? She's spunky, beautiful and determined. Dudes, she comes from a trailer park! Also, I love watching ANTM because I love Andre Leon Talley: his capes, hats and general outrageousness (That is dreck! Dreckitude!). I've read his 'Life with Andre' section in Vogue for years and it's entertaining to see his over the top personality on screen.

I was rooting for Britt Britt from the beginning, so I'm relieved that after all the Alexandria drama Alexandria was at the final runway show to witness Brittani win it all.

This pic says it all! Alexandria and her attitude.

I love Brittani's look and I really want to commit to that hair...but that would also mean committing to losing 10lbs and then never eating again. That I cannot do. Steak and donuts are what keeps me going. Anyway, so what I want to know is why the judges felt like they had to cut Brittani and Molly's hair again before the final judging? Maybe I can't see straight because I'm too in love with that blunt bob, but I do not care for either of these cuts when compared to their previous styles.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, a recap of some of my favorite Brittani shots. And one of Molly, because I'm a fan of hers as well. But just one. Because I'm stingy like that.

She looks like some snotty, high class, uber-rich lady (Victoria Beckham?) with her pet kitty.

So mischievous. Love the angles.

Whoa. The Brows and the Bees.

I was never too sure about the arm out there, but okay, I'll take it because it creates some drama...or something. Andre said, "She's looking at an oasis that does not exist."
Sweet photo of Molly! She's pretty athletic so she had a ton of awesome shots balancing and moving with the camel as it stood up. And I adore that silk scarf tied into a fattie bow on the back of her head.

But I really can't get Brittani's blunt bob with bangs outta my head. I've already brought the weight issue to light, but I also wonder if my hair color would be a problem. I love the drama of the short, dark almost black hair, and that cut wouldn't be as dramatic with red hair. Hmm. I think I'm just going to resurrect my short bangs. Any thoughts? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

*Danny thinks I'm a terrible person for putting the word 'bitch' on my blog. That line is from a Britney Spears song. So sue me.

Curtsy Low

Some days just suck and you don't even realize it. Some days it is hard to be a girl. And no, that was a not a reference to Madonna or to the Madonna episode of Glee (which was escandaloso, no?). PMS-ing totally sucks. It sucks to be fine one moment and then be verging on tears the next. Self control = AWOL. Not to mention irritability levels that shoot higher than Justin Timberlake's trembling falsetto.

I was screaming at the TV last night while watching Gossip Girl's season finale. Yes, I know, the finale aired however long ago and I'm the last to see it. But how dare anyone presume to shoot Chuck Bass. Eastern Europeans think they are the you-know-what.

However.

PMS also gives license to my WHO-GIVES-A-______ attitude. Today I did what I have been procrastinating. I finally contacted a few men at work who intimidate me. El Presidente put me in charge of one of his pet projects (why he marked me for this task nobody knows, as a few individuals have oh so kindly pointed out). I was intimidated by these men because

1) I don't know them
2) I don't know anything about their specialties
3) I'm worried they will think I am an idiot because I don't know how to begin to ask about how their areas of expertise can help with this project

Honestly though, you know you're not meant for the business world when: after finishing part of a different project (with good results!) you bound/leap/skip up to your boss and with a final but tiny curtsy show him the finished product.

Today I thought, 'Who cares what they think of me? I'm learning. I can't be expected to know everything. But I can try to not curtsy.' And then I took the plunge, calling and emailing my way to a meeting request.

And then I came home and watched four hours of TV on Hulu. Bless this modern age where I can let the dumb things I do all day sink away in a good episode of 30 Rock. And thank you Alec Baldwin, because you are hilarious.

I love cookies.

I've been so busy watching old seasons of ANTM and making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I haven't really had any time to blog. I have to make cookies every week because I take them to work and when nobody is looking I eat them. That way, I don't have to share.

Quick rundown of the Rexburg life you've all been missing:

- Planting foxgloves and asters... in pots because we don't have planters...or a yard. I hope a green thumb is genetic because it seems like everyone else in my family's got it.

- My sister calls me a "scum sucking piece of trash douche bag" on Facebook.

- Got rave reviews for my work in our magazine dept (phew!) . But El Presidente won't let me change departments, and I might have to work through both of my cousins' weddings this summer. Boo!

- Bought makeup behind Danny's back. He just can't understand why you would ever need more than one eyeshadow.

-Monthly round of swollen tonsils is back. My body is trying to give me strep throat again. Traitor.

- Photo shoot. Pictures to follow. Oh and I've got to post pics from AAA Wedding too.

- An annoyed Danny who is waiting for me to watch Modern Family with him. What a hard life we lead.

Welcome to the 21st Century

After months of watching movies and TV (streaming online shows) on a 21 inch computer monitor, we finally purchased a TV. I don't want to rag on the monitor, it treated us very well for being used as a TV, but it was frustrating to be peacefully watching 30 Rock and then have to leap to the edge of the bed to see whatever detail was on the screen. Does that make sense? Anyway.

We haven't gotten satellite or cable yet, so we kept Danny's old computer there so that he can download shows and movies using the TV as the monitor and then just popping the USB into the TV. What a great little contraption! I just love technology.

What a beaut! You can see I still have a long way to go design-wise...like maybe hiding those cords and movies for starters. Doesn't that candle look like a glass of milk?

Ha ha! Too much TV, all tuckered out.

Now next time Dave and Bobbie come to visit we can pile on the bed again and actually be able to see what we're watching!

Runway Friday.

Is it bad that I sometimes think of the long hallway at work as a runway?

Occasionally, I'll find myself strutting--just a little--and I have to take a step back and say to myself, 'Whoa. You're at the work place. Tone it down.'

Speaking of runways, is anyone watching ANTM this season? I really liked Ren at first but then I realized she's really boring behind all that red lipstick. Glad she's gone. And Anslee? I can't wait for her to get voted off. She's such a know-it-all.
